Bogus Pro-Gun Groups or Just incompetent

Why do the top rated sites in the most used search engines have the most useless information for Gun Searches? Is this accidental? Or are these sites number 1 because of their lack of utility while looking for guns?

A large part of my job in the fight for gun retailers is watching the search engines, tracking trends and monitoring how the search engines treat various sites. We are noticing a startling trend with Google.com. There are “Pro-gun” groups providing links to various parts of the gun industry but never to the heart of it. They dance around the center of our fight these days and their sites rarely seem to fully function.

What would be the point to this? Well we at GunMuse Outdoors have known for years that you only have 3-7 minutes to provide a surfer with the information that they seek before they get side tracked and wander off the focus of their search. How many times have you done this yourself your searching for something and after a few minutes something ‘off topic’ catches your eye and you find yourself reading about river rafting in Colorado. Hey its not just you its all of us. The human nature is to be curious and to follow our curiosity. It might have been what led you to Gunmuse.com in the first place. We preach to our dealers that a clarity in their website is very important. While no website has the perfect navigation (I work on mine weekly) it is important for you the reader to find what you seek within a certain period of time and that time started counting AT the search engine. So we all have done it recently searched and found just garbage results and while we are the most active in clearing up this problem it’s a BIG problem. What concerns me more is what is reaching the top of the search engines. I went to Google an typed in Guns and the number one listing is recguns.com. Now since Yahoo doesn’t allow the purchase of that keyword through their PPC Search Overture.com that puts them Number 1 on Yahoo as well. In other words this site reaches 70% of our market. On the surface a straightforward gun site but we don’t just look at the window dressing of a site. First thing we did was try and find the owners of RecGun.com They hid their phone number and contact information even at the registar level. Hey that’s not so bad Anti-gunners could have been spamming them GunMuse understands that we get 28,000 emails a day. GunMuse Knows Spam. So the ability to contact them directly and offer them any support we can was out. The goal of our helping sites like this is to move them away from supporting our enemies. GunMuse has no tolerance for collaborators, nor should ANY gun owner. Their site uses the Google forums boards and has such a high volume of posters its just packed full of Pro-gun guys. So since we don’t want to lend aid and comfort to the enemy we would gladly put them up on their own hosting plan for free, give them the software to establish new boards and help them move forward on a pro-gun way of thinking. Frankly if you don’t want to be ‘bothered’ by people online you probably shouldn’t build a website. So we took the only action that we could take and that was signing up for the Google boards and posting in there that I wanted to contact the owners or moderators and help them move to a system that supports our side of the rights fight. That post was ‘DELETED’ it appears they don’t even want their members to know there was an option to support the rights fight in a better fashion.

That upset me so I started to dig. First we found a large portion of their links to be broken or “under construction”. All of which should give you the poorest search ranks. So why does Google put them Number 1. The links we did find working really took us to dead end information. Not Useless but at any point does their site break into the mainstream rights fight. From this we can only conclude that either they are not paying attention, incompetent, or they are TRYING to create a trap. None of these reasons are valid and this site is not alone we have found more than a dozen ‘Collaborators’ all on the most prime online real estate. So since I have more visitors than any of these sites its our intention to put some ‘pressure’ on our online right fight leaders to actually practice what they preach. GunMuse will post a list of ‘Collaborators and Traitors’. When we find a site that is profiting from or supporting an anti-gun business then that site will make our list. Unlike what happened to Smith and Wesson we want people to take action to move to the right way of thinking and acting. We have tried the nice way of getting folks to do what’s right for the right reasons and the time for politeness and compromise are at an end. None of my members are to harass these sites in ANY way. But you may inform them that they have made the list and action needs to happen to get removed from that list. We know that some site owners don’t know full well what they do. But if we contact you and you ignore us expect to be on the list.
